KAOMI Successfully Hosts the 32nd Spring International Symposium on Implant Dentistry

Seoul, South Korea – The Korean Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Implantology (KAOMI), led by President Jae-Hong Hwang, successfully hosted the 32nd KAOMI Spring International Comprehensive Symposium & iAO 2025 on March 15-16 at the Korea Science and Technology Center. The event featured 28 world-class speakers, including 21 domestic experts and 7 distinguished international lecturers, covering various fields such as oral and maxillofacial surgery, prosthodontics, and periodontics.

Cutting-Edge Lectures and Notable Speakers

The symposium provided attendees with insights into the latest advancements in digital dentistry, AI applications, and implantology innovations.

Dr. Jung-Hyun Kim, a periodontist, delivered a lecture on prosthetic restoration using digital technology. Dr. Se-Young Cheon discussed the collaboration of digital orthodontics and implantology, followed by a presentation by Professor Chang-Seong Kim. Professor Hyun-Chang Lim raised critical questions in his session titled, “What is the Scientific Basis for Using PDRN?”. Additionally, Dr. Seung-Hwan Oh spoke about the clinical application of BMP in implant surgery, and Professor Seon-Jong Kim covered the use of PRF in minor oral surgeries.

AI and 3D Printing in Implant Dentistry

Professor Jae-Hong Lee introduced the role of AI-driven clinical dentistry with his presentation, “A New Era of Clinical Dentistry with ChatGPT”. In the dental hygienist session, Dr. Jeong-Hyun Park provided insights into peri-implantitis treatment and insurance claims.

  • Dr. Hyun-Doo Won: CBCT Applications in Prosthetic Treatment

International Collaboration and Global Perspectives

The symposium also featured international guest speakers, including Professor Daniel Thoma. Additionally, KAOMI strengthened its global network by inviting experts from partner organizations, such as the Philippine College of Oral Implantologists (PCOI), the Thai Association of Dental Implantology (TADI), and the Japanese implant group Getsurin-kai.

Future of Implantology and Digital Innovation

Symposium Chair Sang-Hyun Baek emphasized, “The core value of this conference is the fusion of cutting-edge technology and implant dentistry. We meticulously curated the program to provide a comprehensive overview of advanced implant knowledge and future perspectives.”
